Dishonest staff

Name : Graeme Seddon Flight number : 2360 From/to : CMF/STN Date : 17th Feb 2019 PNR : PWAMZL When I booked my ticket I was provided with a receipt that said I had an allowance of 23 kgs of carry on luggage and no hold luggage. I assumed that this was a clear error given that 23 kgs of hand luggage was a ridiculous amount. I accept that I should have queried this. When I arrived at Stansted airport on 10th February, the BA staff routinely tagged and sent the baggage to the hold without question. When I arrived at Chambery airport on 17th February, I was told that the bag could not go in the hold for the following reasons; a) The plane was small b) The flight was full and the weight was crucial to the safety of the aircraft b) I did not have a registered check in bag c) The bag was too big to go in the overhead locker. I questioned why it would have been acceptable on the front leg of the trip and why, at 17 kilos, it could not go in the hold but it would have been acceptable to carry 23 kilos in hand luggage. My hand luggage weighed less than 1 kilo. It subsequently transpired that this could all be overcome, and the safety of the plane NOT COMPROMISED, if I paid 50 Euros excess baggage. Receipt number 00192 As it transpired (and would have been very clearly evident to the ground staff) that the aircraft was barely 1/3 full. I have a photograph showing a largely empty plane. The staff assured my that they had tried to contact BA for advice. I am unable to verify this. However, I did spend 40 minutes on hold because my call was "very important" to BA.
